How to add your appty link to your Google Business Profile

When someone searches "yoga class near me" or "math tutor in [your area]", Google often shows business profiles before any website. If yours only says "call" or "message", you're asking a busy person to wait for a reply. A booking link lets them book on the spot.

This guide shows you how to add your appty link as the booking link on your Google Business Profile, on a computer or a phone, plus a few quick ways to get more out of your profile.

Why it matters

  • Clients can book straight from Google. Google lets businesses add links that help customers "book an appointment" directly from their profile on Google Search and Maps. No DMs, no phone tag.
  • It works while you're busy. Your appty link shows your real availability, so clients pick a time that actually works, even mid-session or after hours.
  • It's your address, not a rented one. Marketplaces rent you customers. Your appty link is yours, and it goes wherever you go: Google, Instagram, your email signature.

Before you start

You'll need two things:

  1. A verified Google Business Profile. Google only lets verified businesses add booking links.
  2. Your appty link (getappty.com/yourname). Don't have one yet? Start free. Set up your sessions and availability first, so the link is ready for real bookings the moment it goes live.

Tip: add tracking to your link. Paste this version into Google instead of the plain link (swap in your own name):

getappty.com/yourname?utm_source=google_business&utm_medium=profile

It opens the same booking page, but the tag lets you see which bookings came from Google.

Add your appty link on a computer

  1. Sign in to the Google Account that manages your Business Profile.
  2. Go to your profile. On Google Search, search for your business name and city, or just "my business". On Google Maps, search for your business name and city.
  3. Open the booking links:
    • On Google Search: select Booking.
    • On Google Maps: select Edit profile, then Booking.
  4. Select Add link (or Add another link if there's already one there).
  5. Paste your appty link with the tracking tag.
  6. Select Save.

Add your appty link on your phone

  1. Open the Google Maps app and sign in with the account that manages your profile.
  2. At the bottom right, tap Business.
  3. Tap Edit profile, then Booking.
  4. Tap Add link, paste your appty link, and tap Save.

Got more than one booking link? Pick which one shows first. Go to Booking and choose Set preferred link, then your appty link, then Save. It shows at the top marked "Business preferred."

When will it show up? Google reviews edits before they go live. Its help pages say changes can take up to 3 days to appear.

Use your link in two more places

  • Website field: no website? Put your appty link in your profile's Website field (Edit profile, then Website). Use the full address, starting with https://.
  • Google posts: when you post an Update on your profile, you can add an action button with a link. Point it at your appty link so every post leads to a booking.

5 quick Google profile tips for solo providers

1. Choose the right categories

Your first category is your primary one, and you can add up to 9 more. Search for your service in your area, see which categories the top local competitors use, and pick the closest honest match. Don't use categories as keywords.

2. Fill in your services

Where Google offers it, use the Services section to list what you offer, with a short description of each. Mention the area you serve, for example "Private piano sessions for beginners in East Vancouver."

3. Ask happy clients for reviews, regularly

Google lets you create a review link or QR code to share. Send it after a great session while it's fresh. When clients say what service they had and where, it helps people searching for that service nearby. Never offer discounts or freebies for reviews. Google doesn't allow it.

4. Reply to every review

Keep it short, personal and genuine. Thank people by name and mention something specific about their session. Skip the sales pitch. If a review is negative, stay calm, explain what you can do, and offer to sort it out privately.

5. Post an update every week

Share an opening, a new class time, or a seasonal offer. You can schedule posts and set them to repeat, and Offer posts get their own "View offer" button. Regular posts show clients your profile is active, and each one is another way to reach your appty link.

FAQ

What if the Booking option doesn't show on my profile?
Check that your profile is verified. Google also says not every business is eligible for every type of link, and some countries and regions aren't eligible for some links. If you can add it but it doesn't appear, the edit may still be under review. Make sure your link goes straight to your booking page. Google doesn't accept social media pages, messaging links, app store links or link shorteners as booking links.
Can clients pay when they book?
Yes, if you turn it on. Your appty link can take payment at booking, so clients pick a time and pay in one step.
Does it cost anything?
Adding a booking link to your Google Business Profile doesn't cost anything. Appty lets you start free, so you can get your appty link and add it to Google today.
Can I change the link later?
Yes. Go back to Booking on your profile, edit or remove the link, and save. Since your appty link stays the same, you usually won't need to.
