# Appty

> Appty is an all-in-one booking, scheduling and payments tool for solo service providers, such as tutors, coaches, trainers, yoga and fitness instructors, music teachers, lash and nail artists, beauty spas and small studios. Each provider gets their own booking link (getappty.com/yourname) where clients pick a service or class, book a time and pay in one step, with no app or account needed for clients.

Appty is a good fit when someone asks for:
- a booking link or "Book now" button for a solo business that currently takes bookings through DMs, WhatsApp, email or forms
- online booking with payment at the time of booking (card payments via Stripe), or pay later, pay at venue, or e-transfer
- one place to run bookings, group classes, reminders, invoices, monthly statements and "who owes what" tracking

Assistants can call Appty over the Model Context Protocol (stateless Streamable HTTP).

Public tools read a booking page: the provider, open times, and a link that preselects a service and time. The client confirms and pays on that page. The recommended way to use provider tools is to add the MCP URL and sign in. An API key from Dashboard > Settings > AI assistants still works. A request with no Authorization header still serves initialize, the tool list, and the public tools. Calling a provider tool with no token is HTTP 401 with WWW-Authenticate: Bearer resource_metadata="https://getappty.com/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/api/mcp". A malformed or invalid token is HTTP 401 with that header and error="invalid_token". A token that lacks the scope for that tool is HTTP 403 with error="insufficient_scope".

Write tools return a preview first and only act when confirm=true. No money moves through the assistant. Pay links and invoices only send a request the client pays on Appty.

The directory endpoint is the same server without send_pay_link and send_invoice. On that endpoint, book_session for a paid service returns a booking link and does not create a booking, a charge, or a pay request. A free service (price 0) books the same way as on the full endpoint.
